MetroParks officials said it was all part of the announcement that the athletic fields, scheduled to open September, can now be reserved. They look forward to hosting teams and athletes from everywhere who play sports including soccer, lacrosse, cricket and ultimate frisbee.
The park’s Voice of America Multipurpose Field and Athletic Complex will feature 22 multipurpose natural grass fields. The complex has the potential to generate $26 million in annual economic impact for Butler County, according to MetroParks.
Reserve fields by calling MetroParks Administrative Office at 513-867-5835 or visit online at www.YourMetroParks.net.
The news announced this week comes on the heels of the news MetroParks of Butler County will receive $2 million for two projects, according to the Ohio House’s capital budget bill. Half the money is designated to be invested in the Voice of America Multipurpose Field and Athletic Complex. The remaining $1 million is earmarked for the Middletown River Center.
The money will help MetroParks complete the first phase of the VOA project. The $1 million will be utilized to install synthetic turf on three or four of the nine center multipurpose fields.
