Arrests made after 2 people shot in Hamilton

An argument in Hamilton on Wednesday night resulted in two people shot and two men in jail.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. in the 11oo block of Chestnut Street, where Mario Ramirez, 60, suffered a gunshot wound. Elizabeth Palma-Duran, 35, was also wounded by a gunshot, according to the police report.

Both victims were transported to West Chester Hospital for treatment.

Two men, Francisco Alejandro Prado, 18, and Edward Mario Ramirez, 29, were arrested and both charged with felonious assault. They are housed in the Butler County Jail. They were arraigned Thursday morning in Hamilton Municipal Court, where bond was set for each man at $250,000. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for Nov. 20.

Prado is accused of shooting Mario Ramirez, and Edward Ramirez is accused of shooting Palma-Duran, according to police.
