As 2023 kicked off Sunday, some local hospitals made annual announcements of the first babies born in their facilities.

McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford said the parents of its first newborn were still deciding on the spelling, but Millie Ann Atkin was born at 1 a.m. Jan. 1. She weighed just more than 8 pounds and is 21 inches in length.

Her parents are Dan and Cheyenne Atkin.

But another TriHealth center in the area had an even earlier arrival: Baby Boy Landy was born at Bethesda North Hospital at 12:08 a.m., measuring 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 20 inches long.

Bethesda North Hospital is in Montgomery in Hamilton County.

At Kettering Health Hamilton, formerly The Fort Hamilton Hospital, a baby named Tessa was delivered at 8:04 p.m. on New Year’s Day. She was born to Heavynne Powell and weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces.

Atrium Medical Center in Middletown said its first baby was named Bouriijen, a French name which means “child of blessing.” She was born a month early and came at 6:08 a.m. Jan. 1.
