“This is an opportunity to develop young people,” she said. “I can give back to people who served me.”
A certified life coach, minister and mentor, Tipton, 40, a 1997 Hamilton High School graduate, has a “desire and tenacity for bringing out the best in people,” Broyles said.
During her first year at the center, Tipton fostered relationships with program partners and members of the community, Broyles said. Tipton is a member of the Plan Hamilton Engagement Committee and serves on the Interdisciplinary Advisory Council for Miami University. She also is the YMCA’s staff liaison facilitating the Teen Programming initiative and serves on the YMCA’s Christian Emphasis Committee and the Christian Leadership Conference.
Her community and professional involvement efforts include facilitating a professional leadership session on Transformational Impact at the Regional Emerging Multicultural Leadership Experience Conference and serving as a speaker for the YMCA’s Christian Leadership Conference in 2019 and is a scheduled keynote speaker in 2020.
Tipton moved back to Hamilton, where her family resides, after living in Florida for eight years where she was a mentoring adviser in her local community.
She hopes to duplicate those successes in Butler County.
“I have a passion to see people grow,” said Tipton, who said she has “a strong passion” for mental health.
Having grown up in the community, she feels her ability to serve as a positive role model and relate to the children served at BTW will be an asset in her new position.
“It’s home for a lot of people,” said Tipton, who recently married Jesiah Brock.
