25 people were indicted in Butler County

Grand juries, which meet in secret, review criminal charges brought by police and prosecutors and investigate possible criminal behavior. The proceedings are usually one-sided because the accused is not present and witnesses are not cross-examined.

A grand jury may issue an indictment if it finds probable cause that a crime was committed and the accused person is responsible. An indictment is an accusation that must then be proven in court. The grand jury may also elect to issue no indictment.

BUTLER COUNTY

Indictments returned during a recent session of the Butler County grand jury:

Paul A. Fraley, 3022 Navaho St., Middletown; indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs.

Treyshawn S. Shegog, 1925 Losantville Ave., Cincinnati; indicted on five counts of forgery (direct), and one count each of theft (direct), theft by deception (direct), and receiving stolen property (direct).

James Michael Hart, 97 Cain Ave., Hamilton; indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs.

Emily Jackson, 7867 Highbrook Drive, Maineville; indicted on one count of grand theft (direct).

Albert Montez Givens, 1119 S. 12th St., Hamilton; indicted on one count of carrying concealed weapons.

Brian Darnell Mack, 1419 Oxford State Road, Apt. B, Middletown; indicted on two counts each of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, and one count each of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and obstructing official business.

Shondria Latise Brown, 811 Gordon Smith Blvd., Apt. 2, Hamilton; indicted on one count each of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, and operating a vehicle under the influence.

Russell R. Bumgardner, 1607 Church St., Middletown; indicted on one count each of having weapons while under disability, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, and obstructing official business.

Scott Anthony Farley, 6501 Germantown Road, Lot #7, Middletown; indicted on one count each of having weapons while under disability and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Bryan Stephen Collins, 8048 Mill Creek Circle, West Chester; indicted on one count each of telecommunications harassment and telecommunication harassment (direct).

Rocky Lee Steinmetz, 1822 Pater Ave., Hamilton; indicted on one count of theft.

Bailee Marie Simon, 1419 Oxford State Road, Apt. B, Middletown; indicted on one count each of insurance fraud and falsification.

Gerald Dale Marcum, 523 D St., Hamilton; indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs.

Joshua L. Lockard, 3405 Glencoe Ave., Middletown; indicted on three counts of rape (direct), and one count of gross sexual imposition, rape, and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor (direct).

Michael Steven Klepper, 4163 Indian Trace Drive, Apt. 7, Oxford; indicted on one count each of strangulation (direct), and domestic violence (direct).

Daniel U. Zelaya-Lopez, 3212 Orangeburg Court, Cincinnati; indicted on 20 counts of illegal use of a minor in a nudity-oriented material or performance (direct).

Shawn R. Pergram, 331 Dayton Germantown Pike, Germantown; indicted on one count of nonsupport of dependents (direct).

Michael W. Davis, 2404 Flemming Road, Middletown; indicted on three counts of nonsupport of dependents (direct).
