A 24-year-old man died in Tuesday morning’s crash on Mack Road in Fairfield, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

Keshaun Lee Austin of Cincinnati was pronounced dead at the Mercy Hospital emergency room just before 3 a.m. Tuesday after the vehicle he drove crashed into a utility pole in the 2400 block of Mack Road.

Fairfield police Maj. Rebecca Ervin said the pole snapped and caused a power outage. The passenger in Austin’s vehicle, Elaysia M. Martinez, 23, was sent to the hospital by ambulance, and her condition is unknown at this time, Ervin said.

The suspected cause of the crash is still under investigation.
