Travel Butler County is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the popular Donut Trail with a chance for people to visit all the shops and earn a commemorative T-shirt.

“The Donut Trail has been a remarkable attraction for going on a decade now, drawing national and international visitors and recognition to Butler County,” said Tracy Kocher, president and CEO of Travel Butler County. “We are looking forward to welcoming new visitors and repeat trail travelers in 2025 to celebrate this incredible anniversary. This year’s shirt is perfect for celebrating the occasion, and we hope that everyone loves this new design as much as we do.”

This year’s shirt was designed in a collaboration between Travel Butler County and local graphic designer, Carrie O’Neal Brenner. This anniversary-inspired shirt features a special celebratory metallic gold Donut Trail logo on the front, and the back showcases design elements from each of the previous year’s T-Shirts as a fun way to look back and reminisce.

Celebrating its 10th year of highlighting local donut shops, the Butler County Visitors Bureau launched the Donut Trail in January 2016. Since its inception more than 40,000 people from all 50 states and 24 countries have traveled to Butler County to complete the Donut Trail, bringing in over $6 million in economic impact into Butler County.

“That’s obviously meaningful to not only the donut shops, but also other businesses around the county, because when people come for the Donut Trail, they are also staying in our hotels, frequenting local eateries, going shopping, and attending area events, so it has a great impact on the donut shops, but for the entire county as well,” said Kathryn Rawlinson, vice president of marketing and communications at Travel Butler County.

The Donut Trail originally launched with nine locations, and it now includes 13 mom-and-pop donut shops. The Butler County Donut Trail continues to garner national recognition and has been featured in publications such as “Food & Wine” and “National Geographic” among others.

Visitors can experience the Butler County Donut Trail by collecting stamps on an official passport. Once a patron completes the Donut Trail, visiting each of the locations, the passport may be redeemed for a complimentary Butler County Donut Trail T-shirt.

A commemorative gold edition of the passport can also be downloaded on the Donut Trail website. The 2025 T-shirt will be available through the end of the year.

The Butler County Donut Trail has become a major part of Butler County’s culinary experience. Each donut shop features their own specialties, such as the “Ugly” from Central Pastry Shop or a “Raspberry Cheesecake” donut from The Donut Spot. Jupiter Coffee & Donuts offers their signature “Miami Maple Merger” donut and Kelly’s Bakery features a “S’mores” donut, just to name a few.
