1 sent to hospital following 3-vehicle crash on I-275

Two people were injured and one taken to an area hospital shorting after 12:45 p.m. today following a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in northern Hamilton County.

The accident backed up traffic for miles.

Emergency crews were dispatched near mile marker 47 on Interstate 275 near the city of Sharonville, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Cincinnati Post. A 2015 Honda Civic, operated by Michael Lenz, 77, of Cincinnati, was traveling east on the interstate when the vehicle attempted a lane change. The Civic struck a 2015 Honda Accord operated by Luanne Cain, 67, of Morrow.

Lenz’s vehicle then struck a 2005 Nissan Xterra operated by Lawrence Keller, 66, of Fairfield.

Lenz was transported by ambulance to Bethesda North Hospital with serious injuries, according to the highway patrol. Keller suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene by medical personal. Cain suffered no injuries.

The investigation remains under investigation by the Cincinnati State Highway Patrol Post.
