Individuals have 30 minutes to eat the homemade stromboli stuffed with pepperoni, sausage and cheese that’s served with four sides of marinara. Teams of two can take on the challenge in 15 minutes.
Those who complete the challenge will receive the food for free and a T-shirt. Those who don’t have to pay $60.
Owner Labinot Troni said they started the challenge last June after making a 3-foot stromboli for their employees to share. One of their employees suggested making it a food challenge and since then around 30 people have given it a try.
There has been a handful of teams and individuals that have beat the challenge. The individual record remains within nine minutes.
When Santel took on the challenge, he finished the ends within the first four minutes and was well over halfway around 15 minutes. He had 9 minutes left in the challenge to finish the last piece.
Troni admitted he was surprised to see Santel take on the challenge and didn’t know who he was at first.
His favorite part of offering this challenge is the excitement in the restaurant as people try to beat it.
“I want to see them beat it,” Troni said.
