A guide to the 10SoCo and Magic Carpet performances at Oxford Community Arts Center for 2024-25

Oxford Community Arts Center has announced the lineup for its 2024-2025 10SoCo and Magic Carpet Family Performances seasons.

“These performances exemplify the power of the arts to bring people together, enrich our community, and spark the imagination. We are excited to continue our commitment to providing diverse and meaningful cultural experiences here in Oxford,” said Heidi Schiller, executive director of Oxford Community Arts Center.

The 10SoCo and Magic Carpet Family Performances seasons have become a cornerstone of OCAC’s mission to celebrate artistic diversity, cultural enrichment and community engagement.

The lineup spans a wide range of artistic disciplines, including jazz, comedy and magic.

Highlights include “Throwing Jazz” featuring Sunnie Wilkinson, who will entertain audiences with captivating interpretations of jazz standards and contemporary favorites on Sat., Oct. 5. Wilkinson will also showcase her pottery.

Guests can prepare for a night of laughter as Dennis Piper & Friends, a talented and comedic ensemble, take the stage on Nov. 2 and experience the mind-bending illusions of magician Jason Hudy with “The Magic of Jason Hudy” on Feb. 8.

The season’s presenting sponsor is WildBerry, and the series presenting sponsors are The Elms Hotel and The Elizabeth Wakeman Henderson Charitable Foundation.

The 10SoCo Performance Series, a play on the center’s address at 10 S. College Ave., has shows that all begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students/seniors.

OCAC also recently unveiled its Magic Carpet Family Performances, which will feature a family-friendly lineup of performances across a wide range of artistic genres, including a singing zoologist, who is a Miami grad, puppets and theater.

As part of the Magic Carpet Family Performances line-up, audiences of all ages will experience Lucas Miller: The Singing Zoologist, who will open the season on Sept. 27.

Other performances include “Winnie the Pooh” with Lexington Children’s Theatre on Fri., Nov. 22; “The Nutcracker,” featuring Madcap Puppets, on Fri., Dec. 20; “Pinocchio” featuring Madcap Puppets on Jan. 31, 2025 and “Alice in Wonderland” presented by Lexington Children’s Theatre onMarch 21, 2025.
