Presented by Downtown Middletown, Inc., the sold-out event is expected to draw over 400 guests on Saturday, May 14.
“This is our fourth annual event, and we sold out in four-and-a-half or five days, so we are actually creating another event in August that will be a Craft Beer Walk. It will be a similar setup to the Women’s Wine & Chocolate Walk, but it will be for women and men. The date has been set for the 27th of August,” said Executive Director Mallory Greenham of Downtown Middletown, Inc.
Hosted in historic downtown Middletown, registration and check-in for the Women’s Wine & Chocolate Walk will begin at 1 p.m. at The Windamere, located at 2 S. Main St. As the first stop on the walk, participants will exchange their ticket for a wine-tasting glass, a goodie bag and a tasting map. Throughout the afternoon, from 1 to 6 p.m., guests will enjoy wine and chocolate tastings at various businesses and restaurants around downtown. (No tickets will be sold at the door.)
Greenham said proceeds from the women-only event will benefit the ongoing revitalization and historic preservation efforts in downtown Middletown. This year’s wine sponsor is Francis Ford Coppola, and Winans Fine Chocolates and Coffees is the chocolate sponsor.
There will be 22 stops on the walk. Half of them will feature wine, and the other half will focus on chocolate.
Guests come from Middletown and beyond, places including Liberty Twp., Mason, Cincinnati and northern Kentucky, to name a few.
On average, $75,000 needs to be raised annually to continue the organization’s work downtown.
Upcoming events will be posted on the Downtown Middletown, Inc. website at www.downtownmiddletown.org and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/downtownmiddletown. Residents can follow all future events on Facebook and sign up for the Downtown Middletown, Inc. email blast on the website.
Ticket sales for the Craft Beer Walk will be announced soon.
