Other highlights will include the Magic Lightnin’ Boys with 500 Miles to Memphis on Thursday, June 29. The Magic Lightnin’ Boys are from the Hamilton/Fairfield area and 500 Miles to Memphis are from Cincinnati. Dallas Moore will also make his RiversEdge debut on Thursday, July 13.
“The Magic Lightnin’ Boys always bring a good crowd, and Dallas Moore will play RiversEdge for the first time. Dallas Moore just won an Ameripolitan Music Award, which is a big deal, and Jim Burns Band is opening up for him,” Helms said.
He said August is tribute month again this year. RiversEdge is bringing back the AC/DC tribute band Back in Black on Thursday, Aug. 10.
“A lot of people will remember that it was packed last year, and we had a power outage throughout the entire city, so the power got knocked out 40 minutes into their set. They didn’t even play a full set, so we’re really excited they’re coming back. They are coming all the way from Texas,” Helms said.
The award for furthest distance traveled to play RiversEdge goes to Dirty Revival on Thursday, July 27. Dirty Revival is coming from Portland, Ore., to play the concert series.
“This is our sixth year of concerts. … We tried to develop this year’s line-up based on what has drawn guests in the past, while still maintaining as much musical diversity as we can. What we found works well in Hamilton are the rock, blues and country genres, so you’ll see a lot of that in our lineup,” Helms said.
There’s also a good mix of popular, local bands on the lineup, he said.
“One thing that is new this year is we added a VIP section. There are 75 tickets available for every show, and for $25 you’ll receive three beverage vouchers — beer, soda or water — from the VIP bar. The VIP package includes a food voucher, valid at any of the food vendors on-site. VIP ticket holders also get access to the VIP Deck with preferred grass seating. The VIP Deck sits behind the stage, and provides a pretty cool behind the scene’s view. It puts you right next to the stage,” Helms said.
A combination of music, sound, lighting and production continue to set the RiversEdge Concert Series apart, he said. RiversEdge can accommodate up to about 3,000 concertgoers.
