Hamilton has announced its free concert lineup that will happen at the RiversEdge amphitheater this summer. The facility, in Hamilton’s Marcum Park, will open at 5:30 p.m. on the days of shows, with music starting at 6:30 p.m.

“The tribute bands are always really popular,” said Adam Helms, who arranges for the RiversEdge concerts, and noted tribute bands saluting Prince, Michael Jackson, Kiss, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin will play.

“In terms of touring bands that are coming through, Andy Frasco & the UN was really popular at David Shaw’s Big River Get Down last year,” Helms said. Because organizers got so much positive feedback from that, “they’re headlining their own show on June 13.”

The July 4 band can’t be announced yet because of contractual terms, but, “I think when we announce who it is, people are going to be really excited by the fact this band is coming to RiversEdge on July 4,” Helms said.

That band’s show will be sponsored by Hamilton residents Jack and Karen Whalen as a memorial to their son, Jared, a 1993 Hamilton High School graduate and highly regarded chef in Butler County, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky who died of heart failure in August.

“We’re calling the July 4 show Jared’s Jam,” Helms said.

At just about every show, at least one local band is paired with the main act.

There also will be a two of ticketed festivals — the Whimmydiddle Country Music Festival on Aug. 16 and 17, featuring the Del Mccoury Band on the 16th and Turnpike Troubadours on the 17th, and Hamilton native David Shaw’s Big River Get Down Sept. 6 and 7.
