Adkins, 49, told deputies he and his wife were walking to the store when they saw a man urinating on the east side of the building. Adkins said he confronted the man about urinating in public, according to the report.
When confronted, the man said to Adkins he would “gut him like a fish.” That’s when Adkins said he pushed the man and punched him, according to the report.
The man pulled out a box cutter and injured Adkins’ arm. Adkins followed him to a car parked on the south side of the lot and the altercation continued. According to the report, the man cut Adkins again. He suffered four stab wounds that were not life-threatening and was taken to Atrium Medical Center for treatment.
Detectives want to identify the man and question him about the altercation to get his side of the story. He was seen leaving the store parking in a silver Acura traveling west on Trenton-Franklin.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detective Dan Turner at 513-785-1238.
