Illustrator for DC Comics to appear at Middletown Comic Expo in September

The Middletown Comic Expo will include expert panels, workshops, cosplay, and vendors for comics, toys and more. There will also be the opportunity for photos with some comic book characters including Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, as well as characters from Star Wars.

The City of Middletown City Events, in partnership with Freestyle Komics, will hold the first-ever Middletown Comic Expo from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sept. 14 inside Johnston Hall at Miami University Middletown, 4200 N. University Blvd.

The Middletown Comic Expo will include expert panels, workshops, cosplay, and vendors for comics, toys and more. There will also be the opportunity for photos with some comic book characters including Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, as well as characters from Star Wars.

Panelists for the Middletown Comic Expo include:

• Craig Boldman, creator of Archie Comics and the humor thriller “talipoe”

• Darryl Banks, illustrator for DC Comics’ Legion of Super-Heroes and penciler for Green Lantern (Vol.3)

• Michael Watson, founder of Freestyle Komics

• Tony Klapper, Middletown native, comic book writer and creator, and co-host of FiveStar Fridays and What the Fig podcasts

• Ryan Robinson, professional artist, children’s book illustrator and co-host of FiveStar Friday podcast

• Adam Fields, owner and lead illustrator of Midnight27 Studios
