March home sales for the Greater Cincinnati area took a little breather compared to last year’s levels. Home sales for the month were 2,085 compared to 2,192 in March 2017, down 4.88 percent, according to statistics from the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors.

The March average home price climbed to $205,881 compared to $193,749 a year earlier, a 6.26 percent increase with average price setting a record for the 21st consecutive month, according to the board of realtors.

“Even though March sales are down slightly from last year, last month recorded the second highest number of March sales in 12 years” said Phil Morrical III, president of the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors. “Home sales in 2017 was very good. We anticipate that 2018 will be just as strong.”

Butler County residential sales in March were 383 compared to 448 in March 2017, a 14.5 percent decrease. Average home price in Butler County was $188,283 compared to $165,658 a year earlier, a 13.7 percent increase.

Warren County residential sales in March were 279 compared to 280 in March 2017, only a 0.35 percent drop. Average home price in Warren County was $261,354 compared to $254,514 a year earlier, a 2.7 percent increase.

Nationwide, March home sales were up 1.1 percent from February on a seasonally adjusted basis, but were down 1.2 percent from March 2017.
