A new “next-generation” Verizon store is opening in the in Miami Twp.

The Dayton-area store, at 2340 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, is a new one for the south suburbs. It’s near the Target store off Ohio 725.

A Denver development firm, Confluent Development, served as developer for the relocation of two stores -- one in Miami Twp. and another in the Cincinnati area -- marking Confluent’s fourth and fifth projects with national retailer Verizon Wireless, having developed stores in Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky, the company said.

The new Miami Twp. store is a 4,983-square-foot ground-up, build-to-suit development, Confluent said.

The project was approved early last year and was estimated then to cost about $1.15 million.

“Verizon decided to relocate the store in favor of the new facility’s functional layout,” the company said in a release. The freestanding facility is in front of Target and near the Dayton Mall.

The project marks one of Verizon Wireless’ first locations built under what Confluent called its new ‘next generation’ store design, which relies on new digital technology and merchandising concepts.

The Cincinnati project represents a 4,522-square-foot freestanding renovated facility along a retail corridor in the Western Hills area. That store is located at 6211 Glenway Ave.

“It is an honor to partner with Verizon Wireless and continue expanding our relationship with such a highly respected national retailer,” Marshall Burton, president and chief executive of Confluent Development, said in his company’s statement. “We’re humbled to be included in Verizon’s launch of its next-generation store design, a truly innovative concept for the future of retail.”
