Wholesale Bait Company, a small, Fairfield-based family business, is hiring.

Founded in 1955, the business offers a full line of live fishing bait and tackle to bait stores, convenience stores, paylakes and state parks, according to Ben Fessel, the company's vice president.

“We deliver on our own fleet of trucks 150 miles from Fairfield and ship live bait and tackle nationally,” Fessel said.

The business, which employs between 12 and 20 people depending on the time of year, is looking to hire five full-time employees and two part-time employees by March 1, Fessel said.

Pay for each position varies, he said.

“Wholesale Bait Company is looking for hard working, dependable and honest team members,” Fessel said.

A hiring event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 11, at OhioMeansJobs-Butler County, 4631 Dixie Highway, Fairfield.
