“Over the past year, he has been a catalyst for positive change bringing strategic leadership, vision, excitement, meaningful collaboration, new industry-focused events and revenue to the Sharonville Chamber,” said Dave Lippert, chairman of the chamber’s board, in a statement.
Bates will replace Scott Ellsworth, who was appointed interim president and CEO in April when Kenny Craig, the chamber's president and CEO for 14 years, left to take an out-of-state job.
Prior to his arrival in Sharonville, Bates served four years as president of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, in Bucks County, Penn.
“He drove efforts in promoting the chamber as a leader in regional business and economic growth while guiding the organization to dramatically increase value and services offered to the local business community in areas of economic growth and government partnerships, outreach, communication, networking, and building long-term relationships throughout the community,” Lippert said.
Bates, a Hamilton resident, has more than 20 years experience in the private sector/corporate world and with social services and a history of serving on boards/committees and volunteering, according to the chamber.
He is a graduate of Kent State University.
