“... We closed the Fairfield location in February for three weeks and did an extensive remodel, remodeling walls, raising the ceiling, new paint flooring and more,” she said. “I decided to stay in our original location and just re-brand.”
Armstead also closed her companion store, Art Off Symmes, in Hamilton last December.
“Originally, I was going to close both Art On Symmes and Art Off Symmes (on High Street in Hamilton) and then open one new store in Hamilton,” Armstead said. “After months of trying to work that out, it didn’t work out.”
Symmetry Boutique & Gallery will open at 1000 Symmes Road in Fairfield, and a grand opening celebration is planned for Thursday through Sunday, June 7-10.
The re-invented store will feature American-made apparel, gifts, outdoor sculptures, jewelry and pottery.
Armstead said she misses Hamilton and the walk-in business at the shop there, but found that most of her Hamilton customers came to Fairfield anyway.
“It’s a 3,000-square-foot destination with a landscape of many outdoor sculptures and other works of art that we couldn’t have seen in Hamilton,” she said.
