Dick’s Sporting Goods relocates mall store to Liberty Center

Now that Dick’s Sporting Goods is open at Liberty Center, the chain’s East Kemper Road store in Springdale has closed, according to the voicemail service for the former Tri-County Commons store.

The relocated store that already opened for business this month in Liberty Twp. includes an expanded Brand Shops, a Women’s Studio Apparel Department, a Soccer Shop, Lacrosse Shop and Baseball Shop, according to a release from the company on Monday announcing grand opening activities. The Liberty Center anchor tenant also features a new, full-service footwear deck, expanded assortment and enhanced service, according to the company.

A two-day grand opening celebration begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. The first 100 people in line Saturday will be eligible for a free Reebok Play Dry T-Shirt, according to Dick’s. Sunday giveaways starting at 10 a.m. Oct. 25 include a free mystery gift card ranging from $5 to $500 for the first 100 adults in line.

Guests waiting in line at 8:45 a.m. Saturday and 9:45 a.m. on Sunday will also get a chance to open the DICK’S Sporting Goods Gift Locker, according to the retailer.

As the Journal-News previously reported, planned in-store appearances that Sunday include Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones from 1 to 2 p.m. and wide receiver Mohamed Sanu from 2 to 3 p.m.

Liberty Center is the approximately $350 million mega complex under construction now in Liberty Twp. at the crossroads of Liberty Way, Ohio 129 and Interstate 75. The first phase consists of just over 1 million-square-feet of shopping, dining, office and residential space. Anchor tenants Dick’s Sporting Goods along with department store Dillard’s are now open.

Then, a grand opening celebration that will see the opening of more stores and restaurants is scheduled to begin Oct. 22, which includes the mentioned Dick’s Sporting events.
