Burlington sets opening date for new Middletown store

Burlington Coat Factory has set an opening date for its new Towne Mall Galleria store, at 3455 Towne Blvd. in Middletown. The doors will open to the public at 10 a.m. Nov. 21, according to the retailer.

Additionally, special events have been planned for Saturday, Nov. 22, at the store. The first 500 customers who make a purchase at the new store on this day will receive a free tote bag with their purchase, and there will be gift card giveaways, face painting, balloons, popcorn and more, according to Burlington.

The discount clothing retailer will lease space formerly occupied by Dillard’s, a department store that closed at the site in 2008. Renovations are underway. Burlington previously announced plans to open a Middletown location in July.

The new opening is key to the mall’s redevelopment plans, since the mall and former Dillard’s store were purchased by California-based developer SA Mary Ohio LLC.

The new store will create 50 to 100 new jobs and will be one of 20 Burlington locations in Ohio, according to New Jersey-based Burlington Stores Inc.
