AtriCure ready to celebrate opening of Mason headquarters

Medical device maker AtriCure Inc. will celebrate the opening of its new Mason headquarters next week.

The company built the approximately 94,000-square-foot headquarters office building on Innovation Way, which was to include office space as well as room for manufacturing, training, and research and development, according to the company and city. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Plans are for AtriCure to move to the newly constructed and expanded facility from leased space in West Chester Twp., which company officials previously said they outgrew. In Mason, AtriCure will be located on a campus in the Oak Park District near Western Row Road and Interstate 71, according to the city. More than 200 employees will be relocated from Butler to Warren County, according to Mason.

AtriCure initially announced plans to build a two-story, 85,000-square-foot state corporate headquarters on a 10.5-acre campus.

Founded as a small technology startup, the bioscience manufacturer has grown to a $100 million revenue business. AtriCure makes surgical ablation devices with indication from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, a heart disease, Chief Executive Officer Mike Carrel told Journal-News in 2014.

A growing cluster of biohealth, information technology and advanced manufacturing companies have located in Mason at the key highway interchange including Luxottica’s EyeMed, Stress Engineering’s Medical Device Division, the Lindner Center of HOPE and Seapine Software, according to Mason.
