However, both Bellamy and Isaacs have expressed their desire to be re-hired by the board after that date.
The board also approved a resolution that set a special public hearing for 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 to gather input from residents concerning the rehiring of retired employees at their current positions as required by state law. After the public hearing is held, the board will have 15 to 30 days to take action to rehire both, said Superintendent Mike Sander.
Sander said he expects the board to take action on the requests at its Dec. 14 meeting.
Bellamy has been working in school finance for the past 30 years, including the past 23 years with the Franklin City Schools.
“It’s been a pleasure to serve as treasurer of my alma mater (class of 1981),” she said in her retirement letter.
Isaacs said he considers himself a very lucky person to have been able to work with a great group of people in every job he’s had with the school district since starting out as a bus driver.
“It’s hard to believe it has been 30 years since I showed up at the bus garage looking for a job because my Mom said I had to start paying my car insurance,” he said in his retirement letter. “Something that was supposed to be temporary has turned out to be the best decision of my life, and for that I am very thankful.”
Bellamy’s current gross annual salary is $105,577, while Isaacs’ current gross annual salary is $59,589, according to district records.
