Potentially threatening comments made Monday night toward Franklin High School on social media has one student facing school discipline and criminal charges.
Franklin police and Franklin City Schools administrators were alerted to threatening comments made on social media at about 9 p.m. Monday, according to Kelli Fromm, Franklin High School principal.
Franklin police interviewed witnesses and notified school administrators early this morning that the statements directed toward the high school did not pose an immediate threat to staff or students.
Police have identified a Franklin High School student as the author of the threat.
The student is now facing school discipline and criminal charges, according to Fromm.
“We hope that the outcome of this investigation further solidifies our repeated message to our community that the safety of students and staff at Franklin High School, and our entire school district, is our number one priority,” she said in a statement.
