According to the report, troopers and officers on Route 73 checked a total of 570 vehicles, and diverted three on suspicion of OVI. Two of these were arrested for drug-related crimes and officers seized liquor from the third.

In addition to the checkpoint, officers conducted saturation patrols in the area from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., and made four OVI arrests.
The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Police Department, Ohio Department of Transportation and Warren County Safe Communities Coalition.

An OVI checkpoint is scheduled for tonight in Warren County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol in conjunction with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Franklin police will be conducting an OVI checkpoint from 9 to 11 p.m. on East Second Street (Ohio 73) in Franklin.

State law requires that checkpoint times and locations be announced ahead of time.
The checkpoints, along with saturation patrols, are an effort to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.
The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers, according to the highway patrol.
