The Colonial Schools will hold its annual carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at Berkeley Square, 100 Berkeley Drive.

Karen Makela, preschool administrator, estimates about 400 people, including parents, children, residents of the retirement community, will attend.

“It’s afternoon filled with games, petting zoo, pony rides, a bounce house, food and a terrific family atmosphere. The money raised will benefit the school’s educational supplies and programs,” she said.

Colonial Schools is located on the grounds of the Westover retirement community and its early childhood education program is recognized for excellence by the state of Ohio’s Step Up To Quality Program, a quality rating system for early care and education programs.

“We have 13 people on staff including myself and we have 160 children enrolled that are spread out between morning and afternoon classrooms,” Makela said.

The carnival is open to the public and admission includes lunch. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. For more information, call 513-867-4006 or click here .
