A restaurant official told this news outlet that a sprinkler line ruptured, collapsing part of the ceiling and causing water damage inside the restauarant.
While there’s no word on when this Fricker’s will re-open, the restaurant chain does have two other nearby locations, one at 4810 Roosevelt Blvd. in Middletown and the other at 8850 Governor’s Hill Drive in Deerfield Twp.
ORIGINAL REPORT @ 4:28 p.m.
The West Chester Fricker’s location at 7844 Kingland Drive was evacuated shortly after 4 p.m. today following a water main break that caused part of a drop ceiling to collapse.
No one was injured in the incident, according to Barb Wilson, spokeswoman for the township. Wilson said she did not immediately know how much of the ceiling had fallen in.
West Chester Fire Department crews have responded to the scene, she said.
We also have a crew headed to the scene and will update this story as we learn more.
