2 women involved in shots fired incident in Hamilton

A woman in recovering from injuries and another woman is behind bars after shots were fired early this morning inside a Hamilton home.

Police were called at about 12:34 a.m. to the 800 block of South Erie Boulevard on a report of shots fired.

Ashley Fleming told officers she was shot in the apartment located above a car dealership.

She told police that Trisha Deaton fired two shots at her and then shoved her off the apartment’s balcony, according to the police report.

She said she suffered injuries to her face, hands and legs.

Fleming, 32, of Jacksonville, Fla., was transported to UC Hospital West Chester for non life-threatening injuries.

Officers surrounded the area and ordered Deaton to exit several times, but she refused. Hamilton SWAT was called to the scene and was preparing to enter when Deaton came out voluntarily, according to police.

The women were in an argument about a sexual relationship when the dispute become violent, according to the police report.

A loaded handgun was found in the residence.

Deaton, 36, of Hamilton, was charged with felonious assault, inducing panic and obstruction of official business.

She was arraigned this morning in Hamilton Municipal Court, where a $75,000 bond was set.

Deaton’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 18.
