Middletown boy, 13, charged with rape sent back to detention center

UPDATE @ 10 a.m. Nov. 13: A 13-year-old Middletown boy didn't enter a plea this morning in Butler County Juvenile Court and he was remanded to Butler County Detention Center, court officials said.

He will be appointed an attorney it was announced during his detention hearing.

The teen will have another hearing Nov. 19 before Judge Kathleen Romans, court officials said.

FIRST REPORT, Nov. 12:

A 13-year-old Middletown boy was charged with rape this morning after an alleged incident with his cousin, according to Middletown police.

The boy and his father came into the police lobby at 3:45 a.m., about two hours after the alleged incident. When the boy was questioned by police he said he thought his cousin was asleep when he put his hand down her pants and penetrated her vagina with his finger, the report read.

He also told police he squeezed her buttocks.

The alleged victim is 8, according to the police report. Police told the girl’s mother to take her to the hospital for examination, according to police.

The boy was charged with rape, placed in handcuffs and taken to the Middletown City Jail. He then was transported to the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center.
