Only one vehicle diverted the Butler County OVI checkpoint Thursday evening as more than 600 vehicles passed through without a problem.

The driver of that vehicle that attempted to avoid the checkpoint on Butler-Warren Road just north of Tylersville Road, and was cited for possession of marijuana.

 

The checkpoint, which is funded by federal grant funds, was staffed by members of the Butler County OVI Task Force, Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and performed nearby saturation patrols.

The checkpoint started at 8 p.m. Thursday on Butler-Warren at Tyler Court, and ended around 9:15 p.m.
