Miami’s Harding, a Dayton native, to play in East-West Shrine Game

Miami University defensive back Heath Harding, a Dayton native, will play in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The game, which will feature many NFL hopefuls, will be aired on the NFL Network.

Harding, a two-time, all-Mid-American Conference honoree, recently completed his career for the RedHawks, totalling 290 tackles (18 for loss), 10 interceptions, 30 pass breakups and four forced fumbles.

This season he started 11 games for Miami, registering 63 tackles, one interception and nine pass breakups on his way to third-team, All-MAC. As a junior, Harding was a first-team, All-MAC selection.

Before the 2017 season, he was on the Bednarik Preseason Watch List, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List and the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List.

Harding has also been named Miami’s Defensive Skill Player of the Year in 2014 and Miami’s Newcomer of the Year in 2013.
