FC Cincinnati still doesn’t know when it will play its postponed Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal match against Miami FC, but the Orange and Blue do know they will get to host the semifinals if they advance.

U.S. Soccer conducted its draw to determine semifinal sites Friday morning and pulled the card that had “FC Cincinnati or Miami FC” typed onto it.

The winner between the last two remaining non-Major League Soccer clubs meets the New York Red Bulls, who beat New England Revolution, 1-0, with a goal in the 87th minute Thursday night to advance. The semifinal would be Aug. 9.

FC Cincinnati was scheduled to play North American Soccer League spring champion Miami on Wednesday at Florida International University; however, inclement weather rolled in 90 minutes before kickoff and did not appear ready to clear when officials made the call to postpone shortly before 10 p.m. that night.

The two clubs were scheduled to speak with US Soccer officials Thursday afternoon to determine a makeup date, but FC Cincinnati representatives said this morning they are still awaiting word.

FC Cincinnati has hosted four Cup games already this season, including MLS sides Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire SC in the fourth round and Round of 16, respectively. Both the games against MLS teams drew more than 30,000 fans to set new non-finals attendance records for the tournament, which features teams from every division.

The winner between FC Cincinnati and Miami FC will be the first non-MLS team to make the final four since 2011.

FC Cincinnati would host the final on Sept. 20 if it advances that far and San Jose beats Sporting KC in the semifinals.
