Middletown police are investigating shots fired in the parking lot of the Elks Lodge on Sunday night.

Officer were dispatched to scene at 912 8th Ave. at about 8:15 p.m. on a report of 15 shots being fired.

Numerous people said they heard shots and started ducking for cover, according to a police report.

Two vehicles that sustained damage were located on the south side lot of the building. Two bullet holes were found in both a GMC Terrain and a Hyundai Sonata, according to the police report.

A Middletown police officer also found six shell casings in the alley near where two fences meet, but don’t connect.

“It appeared that the shooter, or shooters, were standing where the two fences meet and fired towards The Elks,” according to the police report.

Officers have reviewed surveillance video in an attempt to identify the suspects.
