A truck carrying jalapeños burned up when the vehicle's brakes caught fire around 1 a.m., KHOU reported.
The fire was put out quickly after firefighters used power tools to get into the side of the truck. The fire had spread inside the vehicle, threatening the boxes of peppers, the television station reported.
Fire Chief Eric Abbt said there were no injuries, adding that it appeared that most of the jalapeños were saved, KHOU reported.
