The Butler County OVI Task Force will conduct an OVI blitz along Ohio 4 and Bypass 4 this weekend.

Law enforcement agencies that are part of the task force will have additional officers along those roads on OVI patrols to detect and deter impaired drivers from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday, according to Pete Reising, task force coordinator.

In addition, other communities where Ohio 4 and Bypass 4 are not through roads will also have additional officers on OVI patrol during those hours looking for impaired drivers.

If you plan to consume alcohol, the OVI Task Force recommends these tips:

Officials ask that you plan a safe way home before festivities begin.

  • Before drinking, designate a sober driver and give that person your keys.
  • If you are impaired, use a taxi, call a sober friend or family member so you are sure to get home safely.
  • If you happen to see an impaired driver, contact the local law enforcement agency.
