No OVI arrests made during Middletown checkpoint

Friday night’s OVI checkpoint checked 515 cars, and 12 were diverted for further investigation.

Pete Reising of the Butler County OVI Task Force said no OVI arrests were made, but there was one warrant served, one suspended license citation, and one misdemeanor marijuana possession arrest.

He said the checkpoint operated from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. as Middletown police officers, Butler County Sheriff’s deputies and Ohio Highway Patrol troopers stopped vehicles in the northbound and southbound lanes in the 1700-block of Germantown Road/Ohio 4, just north of Wilbraham Road. Middletown police and other agencies conducted additional saturated patrols near the checkpoint.
