Monroe police: Fatal shooting may have started as domestic disturbance

Monroe police are continuing their investigation into a fatal shooting early Saturday morning.

Detectives spent the day Monday looking for more information, according to Officer Joshua King, public information officer; however, no arrests have been made and police are saying very little about the shooting incident that may have been the result of a domestic disturbance.

According to the Warren County Coroner’s Office, the victim was identified as Christopher Bailey, of Teil Tree Court. He was pronounced dead at 1:08 a.m. Saturday at Atrium Medical Center.

The coroner’s office said he died from a single gunshot wound.

Police were called about 12:20 a.m. to the residence about a disturbance.

When crews arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. Medics transported the victim to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police questioned witnesses early Saturday after the shooting.
