A cashier told police that when the suspect walked in, she asked him to take off his ski mask because that was company procedure.
The suspect said he would not remove his mask and said he had a gun. He showed her the gun and ordered her to give him the money from the register, according to the police report.

She told police the suspect came around to the back of the register. She asked the suspect to put the gun away, saying she had children.
He put the gun away and then he emptied the cash register, according to the police report, stealing about $200.
He then took approximately $400 from a safe, according to the report.

Middletown Police Lt. Scott Reeve said the suspect left on foot, but may have had a car waiting for him.
A canine officer was called in, but the suspect wasn’t located, he said.
The suspect is described by police as a man wearing all black, including a black jacket and black jeans, who kept his face covered during the incident.

No shots were fired and there were no injuries, according to Reeve.
