Middletown man sent to prison for sex with teen

A Middletown man was sentenced to prison today for rape and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor involving a Trenton teen.

David Cross, 29, of Wayne Avenue, was indicted in November by a Butler County grand jury for rape and five other felony counts. He pleaded guilty earlier this month to the two charges that said the crimes occurred in October 2016 and the spring of 2015.

Butler County Common Pleas Judge Noah Powers sentenced Cross to nine years in prison.

While investigating the Butler County case, electric communication was discovered between Cross and another teen in Warren County.

Cross is also facing charges of rape and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor for alleged crimes involving a 13-teen-old in June 2016, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

In the Warren County County case, Cross is accused of communicating with the teen through an app. When he met up with her in an area outside Kings Island, prosecutors say he grabbed her and forced her to perform sex acts, according to the prosecutor’s office.
