Saturday was warm, but not record-breaking

By Brett Collar, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist

Spring is still about two months away, but you may have thought it was here on Saturday as we saw temperatures soar into the lower 60s.

This is 25 degrees above the normal high for this time of the year. However, this is not enough, nor was it even close, to breaking a record.

The daily record high temperature for Jan. 21 was 69 degrees set back in 1906. We didn't even come in second Saturday. The second spot is 65 degrees, set in 1916.

The warmth will not last much longer. A general cooling pattern will kick in and send temperatures back into the 30s by the end of this week.
