Pills and patches will be accepted. Liquids, needles and powders will not be accepted. Pills should be removed from containers and placed in a zipper-lock storage bag.
In Dayton, the police department is offering a five drop-off sites:
- Headquarters and Safety Building, 335 W. Third St.
- Central Patrol Operations Division, 248 Salem Ave.
- East Patrol Operations Division North, 417 E. Helena St.
- East Patrol Operations Division South, 2721 Wayne Ave.
- West Patrol Operations Division, 951 Washington St.

Last year, nearly 460 tons – more than 900,000 pounds – of prescription drugs were turned in at over 5,800 sites.
