Butler County Common Pleas Judge Noah Powers will announce his pick for the soon-to-be-open seat on the veterans board Monday.

Longtime Veterans Service Commissioner Lowell Stewart will step down this year after 22 years on the board. The judge asked the three AMVETS posts in Butler County to submit three candidates, but only two posts sent recommendations.

Fairfield Police Chief Mike Dickey is among the four candidates — two men dropped out of the running — along with retired Army Sgt. Logan Bixler, retired Airman First Class Aaron Cunningham and retired Army Master Sgt. Bruce Jones.
