Car crashes, flips on Cincinnati-Dayton Road in Monroe

UPDATE @ 6 p.m.:

A witness said the car involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Cincinnati-Dayton Road was speeding down the road with a posted 25 mph limit.

David Schmitt said he looked out of his home and saw the car coming down Cincinnati-Dayton Road at a high rate of speed. It then went off the side of the road and struck his mailbox. It then hit a culvert and flipped at least once before coming to rest in the front yard of a house two doors down from him.

Schmitt said it’s about the 17th crash he’s seen on that stretch in the several years he’s lived there.

He said motorists come too fast down the hill and then can’t navigate a slight turn on the two-lane roadway.
