Arrest made in Franklin residential burglary case

A man wanted in an April residential burglary on Victoria Drive in Franklin is in custody after his arrest Wednesday afternoon by Preble County sheriff's deputies.

Brian Carpenter, 33, is being detained in the Warren County Jail on a $100,000 bond stemming from the April 10 burglary, Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman said in a prepared statement released Wednesday night.

He is accused of stealing a wallet and purse after breaking in through a rear door, according to Franklin police.

Carpenter is to be arraigned on a count of aggravated burglary Friday in Franklin Municipal Court.
