One reason investigators returned to the home is that they are still working to determine whether the child was stillborn or a live birth, Warren County Coroner’s Investigator Doyle Burke said.
Thursday’s backyard dig included a fire pit and the area around it.

“We have learned more. That’s why we’re back out here,” Burke said.
The samples, placed in buckets investigators brought to the scene, will be taken to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Earlier Thursday, Warren County Coroner Dr. Russell Uptegrove said they were working with the anthropologist who was examining the remains.
A local doctor’s office alerted Carlisle police July 14 that a Carlisle teenager might have delivered a stillborn baby, according to the police report.

Later that night, Carlisle police and Warren County Sheriff’s deputies dug up the remains of an infant in the backyard of a residence in the 100 block of Eagle Ridge Drive.
Initial reports led investigators to believe the remains were a stillborn baby, but Uptegrove said it’s too early to determine that. He added his department may never know if the baby was stillborn or alive at birth.
On Thursday, Uptegrove said an anthropologist is examining the remains to help determine the age of the remains.
The Carlisle police report listed the mother as 18. This news agency isn’t naming her because she hasn’t been charged.
