Person locked in office triggered alarm at Warren County junior high

UPDATE, 12:45 p.m.: Kings spokeswoman Dawn Gould said the school alarm was set off by someone, whom the district will not identify, that was locked in the junior high's main office.

“We aren’t going to release who accidentally pushed the button. This person was in the office and was locked in. They were looking for the unlock button and pushed the wrong one. We are looking into that button’s placement to ensure this doesn’t happen again,” said Gould.

“There will be no disciplinary action taken. It was an innocent accident,” said Gould.

Snelling said there were very few people in the building when the alarm was activated in the administration office, but he would not say if it was accidentally tripped by an adult or a student.

Questions about if the person could face disciplinary action by the school district were referred to the superintendent by Snelling.
