Local educational leaders are among those vying to become the next superintendent of a Warren County career/technical education school.

The Warren County Vocational School District Board of Education has conducted preliminary interviews and selected four candidates for consideration to replace retiring WCCC Superintendent Maggie Hess.

The final four candidates are:

  • Tom York, High School Principal, Talawanda City Schools in Butler County
  • Abbie Cook, Site Supervisor, Butler Tech in Butler County
  • Rick Smith, Superintendent, Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center in Clark County
  • Matt Lindley, Director of Secondary Education, Greene County Career District in Greene County

Each candidate has experience in career-technical education, according to the school.

Open forums for staff, interested community members, and business partners to meet the four candidates will be held March 1 and March 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The four candidates will present individually for one hour each night. The forums will be held in the WCCC Commons, 3525 Ohio 48, Lebanon.

“We are asking for those interested to commit to being here March 1 and 2 for the entire process in order to be fully informed, and to be able to provide feedback,” WCCC Board President Bobbie Grice said. “The board values input from staff and our business partners and wider community.”
