2 injured following Franklin crash

Two people were transported with non life-threatening injuries following a multi-vehicle crash in Franklin Tuesday afternoon.

Franklin police said the crash occurred at about 3:24 p.m. on North Main Street at Kenneth Koons Boulevard where a driver of a white Buick lost control and struck a red Ford causing it to run off the roadway and into a front yard.

The Buick continued and went underneath a semi-trailer, came out from underneath the semi-trailer and went down the embankment into the old Miami Canal bed, police said.

Police said the driver and a passenger of the red Ford were transported to Kettering/Franklin Emergency Room with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

The driver of the Buick, Nancy Caudill, 64, of Middletown, was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control of her vehicle. She was uninjured and refused medical treatment.

Police said they were assisted at the scene by the Ohio Highway Patrol, Franklin Fire & EMS, and JEMS.
