The breakfast included remarks from Butler County Commissioner T.C. Rogers, Hamilton Mayor Pat Moeller, and Board of Elections Chairman Frank Cloud. Secretary of State Jon Husted delivered remarks in a pre-recorded message.

The Board of Elections used the occasion to recognize several poll workers for their exceptional service. Award recipients included:
• 2016 Location Supervisor of the Year: Allan Fuson
• 2016 Best Recruiter: Ciarra Craft
• 2016 Most Accommodating Poll Worker of the Year: Dennis Krall
• 2016 Volunteer Poll Worker of the Year: Herald Hosea
• 2016 Poll Worker of the Year: Bob Holian
The Board of Elections also recognized Miami University, including its Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown campuses, as the 2016 Partner in Democracy of the Year for their partnership in voter outreach and poll worker recruitment in 2016.
In 2016, Butler County held four county-wide elections, including the presidential primary and general election as well as special elections in the 8th Congressional District.
